Position Summary

The Analyst, Media Investment Analytics role will fall within the Investment arm of IPG Mediabrands Canada, reporting to the Senior Director, Investments and Accountability. On the Investment side, the Analyst will support the Managers and Directors in data analysis and insight generation to support investment functions within Mediabrands. On the Investment Analytics side, you will work with the Manager of Investment Analytics to handle complex data sets, producing insightful, data-driven strategic recommendations and client dashboards.

Key Responsibilities

· Help to identify and communicate buying market conditions, changes, and developments to the Investment team.

· Proactively provide guidance and direction to the Investment team on buying conditions.

· Work with Investment Directors and Managers to update documentation and decks for agency teams on topics such as industry trends and media buying conditions.

· Support key processes within the Investment team including the buying accountability process, client pricing processes, maintenance of large data sets, etc.

· Work within a team environment in data sourcing, aggregation, and analysis to build robust Market Inflation and Ad Forecasts.

· Assist in analysis of partnership proposals to support contract negotiations.

· Support in deal management processes including creation of deal summaries, requesting and processing of partner investment trackers, tracking deal benefit utilization, etc.

· Willingness to roll-up sleeves and manage data clean-up, data modeling, and slide creation

Qualifications

Post-secondary education – University graduate and/or quantitative background preferred

· 2+ years in a planning, buying, or insights/analytics role preferred

· Strong data interpretation and analytics skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

· Proficiency in MS Teams & Asana is preferred but not necessary

· Experience with programs such as Tableau or Power BI, and SQL Server Management Studio [or similar programs] is an asset.

· Knowledge of coding, primarily SQL, preferred but not required
