Job Summary:

The role of a Buyer, Media Activation is to execute television, radio and OOH campaigns. The successful candidate will be responsible for negotiation, execution and maintenance of media campaigns for various clients, as well as assisting the Supervisor/Senior Manager in preparing all written documents (e.g. pre-buy, post buy, etc.). This role requires you to work as part of an integrated media investment team to ensure the product is grounded in insights and experience, resulting in flawless media executions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate, execute and maintain television, radio and OOH campaigns for a portfolio of clients
  • Deliver media campaigns that meet campaign objectives and client expectations on a daily basis
  • Understand and recommend stations and programming that align with target audience
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of campaign reports, campaign summaries, tracking of expenditures by supplier as required.
  • Proactively advise the team of any variations to execution of media plans.
  • Assist in ensuring all invoices, discrepancies and billings are cleared and issued in a timely manner as needed.
  • Execute all relevant revisions to the media buy as needed.
  • Identify and communicate potential buying market conditions to peers.
  • Develop and maintain positive rapport with media partners.
  • Foster relationships across agency partners, with a focus on client service.
  • Attend media seminars and presentations as required.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Post-secondary education – University graduate and/or advertising/marketing College degree preferred.
  • Minimum (1-2) years’ experience in media investment.
  • Previous OOH experience is an asset.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to develop positive on-going business relationships (both internal & external) with a focus on client service.
  • Strong learning agility, with a passion for continuous development.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Highly developed organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent ability to manage and prioritize time.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving, supporting the team, self-development, etc.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Proficient with MediaOcean, Radius and media research tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
