ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a dynamic role within a fast growing market within the Mediabrands family

The Finance Manager will report into the Head of Financial Reporting, and will engage with the wider business including Senior Leadership to provide strong financial analysis to assist in key business decisions for the UK and Ireland market. In addition they will support the wider Reporting Team on tasks relating to the wider UK and Ireland Business.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Planning and Analysis :

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Consolidation and analysis of Full Year & Flash Forecasts in preparation for extensive review with the CFO & Head of Financial Reporting. This will include but not be limited to producing PPT/decks and any additional analysis that may be required for the UK and Ireland CEO and CFO.   
  • Consolidation of Monthly/Qtly/Yearly actuals in preparation for extensive review with the CFO, Head of Reporting and Commercial Teams.
  • Consolidation of UK & Ireland market Client Profitability submissions.
  • Co-ordination between EMEA FP&A team and UK and Ireland Commercial/Reporting teams to manage all requests for information.
  • Preparation of Monthly Reporting pack for the UK and Ireland Leadership Team
  • Supporting and responding to frequent queries from senior management, controllers, non-finance employees and auditors.
  • Supporting the Head of Financial Reporting with market level reporting requirements.
  • Liaising with Commercial/Reporting teams to build process improvements, and then implementing these to ensure that all reporting and forecasting requirements are managed efficiently.

  • Working closely with Financial Reporting team to assist with market level tasks such as Revenue Calculations and distributions to business leads and senior finance team to manage briefs and create Dashboards utilising Power BI and excel to help visualise financial results & metrics to assist in enabling key business decisions.
  • Maintaining and updating existing dashboards for weekly/monthly review calls with business leads and key finance staff.

Continuous Improvement  :

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with business leads and senior finance team to manage briefs and create Dashboards utilising Power BI and excel to help visualise financial results & metrics to assist in enabling key business decisions.
  • Maintaining and updating existing dashboards for weekly/monthly review calls with business leads and key finance staff.

 

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking an enthusiastic, hard working and well organised candidate with strong attention to detail and a wide variety of Finance experience and skills.  The ideal candidate will be personable and ambitious with an interest in the Media sector. Desired skills and experience are as follows:

 

Technical skills:

  • A full accounting qualification is preferable (preferably CIMA or ACCA).
  • Previous experience of working in a Financial Planning and Analysis team in a medium or preferably large company advantageous.
  • Advanced excel knowledge – very familiar and comfortable with pivot tables and standard formulas such as VLOOKUPs, conditional formatting, IF, AND, OR statements etc
  • Intermediate/Advanced Power Point knowledge
  • Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of Power BI or similar systems preferable
  • Systems : SAP / Hyperion knowledge would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP would be advantageous.
  • Prior experience of forecast and budgeting including reporting via a consolidation system such as Hyperion
  • Capable of working within a dynamic environment to tight deadlines during key busy periods (e.g. quarter end, year end
  • Highly numerate
  • Strong analytical skills with a very strong level of attention to detail and accuracy - the ability to quickly identify key issues from such analysis and potential operational solutions is critical

 

Soft skills & Aptitudes:

  • Excellent communications skills - both spoken and written, with the ability to communicate effectively to all levels of management
  • Able to respond quickly to ad-hoc requests and prioritise accordingly
  • Inclusive management style which fosters collaboration and a 'working with' approach
  • The ability to exert influence and effective management across a diverse group of business professionals including local and regional senior management
