Position Summary

At Mediahub, The Strategy department is our strategic muscle. The Supervisor will contribute to and in some occasions lead a roster of clients across major categories (beauty, finance and new-fi, kids marketing, etc), while also supporting projects and new business efforts as opportunities arise. The Supervisor must thrive on exploring changing consumer behavior, media landscape, cultural trends, and competitive landscape to provide strategic insights that fuel our strategic recommendations and strategic planning for clients. The role will have an endless curiosity, entrepreneurial spirit and vibrant critical thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Writes clear, thought-out and intriguing questions that help provoke the brief
  • Helps define the client's brand and business problem behind the brief
  • Identifies the right tools to develop business, category, competitive and consumer intelligence, from internal resources to syndicated tools, to proprietary research and partner data.
  • Analyzes research and multiple data sets in autonomy
  • Synthesizes multiple forms of data into innovative and actionable communication inputs for the strategic approach and for innovative go-to-market ideas.
  • Clearly understands the difference between an observation and an insight
  • Communicates with clarity and in ways that guide and inspire both internally and to clients.
  • Understands of all channels and disciplines with the ability to help cascade strategy into media principles and tactical activation
  • Seamlessly works with teams across disciplines, building upon and uniting work under a holistic communications plan.
  • Builds POVs and contributes to thought leadership for both clients and corporate communications
  • Participates in new business development as opportunities arise.
  • Familiarity with most major syndicated tools, both strategic planning and consumer insight, e.g., GfK, MRI, Mintel, WARC, Euromonitor, Nielsen, Kantar, Qualtrics.
  • Experience with social listening and affinity-based tools, including Netbase, Helixa, Affinio.
  • Ability to manage and develop the skillsets of junior strategy team members
  • Is collaborative and eager to support the team towards a common goal

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4+ years in media strategy, strategic communications, or related role (e.g. media planning, marketing, consumer research, strategy, etc.)
  • Enthusiastic consumer of, and curiosity about, pop culture and the ever-changing media landscape
  • Software: Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.), Keynote, familiar with most major syndicated tools, both strategic planning and consumer insight, e.g., GfK, MRI, Mintel, WARC, Euromonitor, Nielsen, Kantar, Qualtrics and affinity-based tools, including CrimsonHexagon, Netbase, Helixa, Affinio.
  • Strong organizational skills and analytical skills (both qualitative and quantitative)

Desired Skills & Experience

  • The candidate does not need to be proficient on ALL listed software for strategic planning and consumer insights

The salary range for this position is posted below.  Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure and standing with the Company (applicable to current employees), as well as the employee’s/applicant’s skill set, level of experience, and qualifications.
