Role Description 

The Intercompany Controller will oversee the resolution of aged and unreconciled media spend balances across entities within the media agency. They will be responsible for streamlining intercompany processes, ensuring timely reconciliations, and improving efficiency across the organization. This role requires a detail-oriented, proactive professional with strong analytical and process improvement skills to drive accuracy and accountability in intercompany financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Intercompany Balance Resolution:

  • Analyze and resolve aged and unreconciled media spend balances across entities, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Investigate discrepancies in intercompany transactions and collaborate with relevant teams to resolve them promptly.
  • Work closely with Media Teams, Shared Services, and Finance teams to clear outstanding balances and maintain accurate intercompany ledgers.

Process Review & Improvement:

  • Review and optimize intercompany reconciliation processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop and implement standardized workflows for intercompany transactions and reporting.
  • Identify and address root causes of recurring reconciliation issues to prevent future discrepancies.

Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare regular reports on intercompany balances, reconciliation progress, and key issues for senior management.
  • Support the month-end and year-end financial close processes, ensuring intercompany accounts are reconciled and reported accurately.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for intercompany reconciliation issues, liaising with finance and Media teams across entities.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams to foster accountability and streamline intercompany workflows.
  • Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on intercompany reconciliation processes and best practices.

Desired Skills & Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) are highly desirable.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting, with a focus on intercompany processes.
  • Prior experience in media, advertising, or a multi-entity organization is advantageous.
  • Proven track record of resolving aged and complex intercompany balances.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong understanding of intercompany accounting principles, reconciliation techniques, and financial controls.
  • Knowledge of media-specific platforms and workflows (e.g., Prisma, MediaOcean)
