Our Finance & Accounting specialist is the right hand of our Financial Controller. Who stands as a cornerstone within the Accounting, Compliance & Control and FP&A framework of our organization.Within this position you are responsible for the preparation of our financial reporting and ensuring efficient accounting processes.Working closely together with our team of professionals within and outside of the finance, accounting and reporting function. You will contribute to the preparation and recording of our company’s movements.

Have a good understanding of the operations of our business and underlying relationships between inputs, outputs and the processes that support them. Ensuring the integrity, accuracy, control and timeliness of reporting. This role encompasses overseeing related business operations and related financial transactions.

Further supporting an improved financial control environment. All contributing to the latest strategy within the IPG (Interpublic) Group. By being part of the recently deployed (global) transformation. You will also be part of bringing this team to a higher level. Enabling a further improved cooperation with other departments. Ensuring we remain compliant with financial regulations, whilst further optimizing our financial health and operational efficiency. Your expertise not only guides the reporting, finance and media team, but also provides valuable insights for management. You are not the traditional “Scorekeeper”. In other words, a shift away from transactional and historically focused activities, but more towards an analytical and forward-looking activities. Help drive better business outcomes.

Finance & Accounting specialist Job Duties

Stewardship. Protect and conserve our business resources of which we then can report accurately on our financial position.

Operator. Managing our financial organization efficiently. Ensuring a high level of support within areas of responsibility. Includes support towards company’s internal, external and customer audit process.

Catalyst: Being the right partner who provides the required information at the right time. Supporting the Financial Controller with business data. Includes but not limited to, the preparation and providing company’s monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close data. Of which all is in compliance with companies comprehensive guidelines. And furthermore support compliance with regulatory requirements. Strategy: Support business to meet targets. And be supportive to the Financial Controller moving the company toward its mission and goals with financial information, analysis and advice. FP&A and business support with the budgeting and forecasting process, including the creation, analysis and eg. pre-address variances between budgeted and actual figures.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Keywords: Financial Accounting- & Control, Audits. Financial Reporting, Budgets and Forecasting;
  • Contribute to the close of (multiple) company’s books in an accurate, timely and efficient manor;
  • Support team with financial month-end-close and FP&A Reporting in the wider sense for all entities and related business streams;
  • Prepare and analyze company’s balance positions;
  • Manage specific general ledger accounts, inclusive accurate and timely recording;
  • Provide balance sheet reconciliations with supporting calculations and frontpages;
  • Supervise, prepare and proactively intervene related to the correctness and completeness of compliance data;
  • Review, analyze and process Media & Production business stream performance;
  • Supervise and proactively intervene on the non-billed items to ensure timely invoicing;
  • Actively monitor debt management and intervene where necessary;
  • Ensure a timely Financial, Planning & Analysis forecasts and budget preparations;
  • Actively support company’s legislations, policies and internal controls;
  • Support FP&A and RCT reviewal analysis results understanding key variances;
  • Provide adhoc management reports, related analysis and advice.
  • Diverse reporting requirements such as CBS and Chamber of Commerce requests;
  • Assist with audits preparations. Inclusive coordinating and/or providing PBC data

Our ideal candidate will have

  • Minimum 4 years of accounting and control working experience;
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or in a related discipline;
  • Work experience within international (media) company’s;
  • ERP, Excel and other application experience;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with focus on continuous improvement;
  • High attention in detail and strong organizational skills;
  • Pro-active team-player, eager to learn, who enjoys working within a diverse team;
  • Flexible, precise and immune to stress. Solution minded;
  • Healthy doses of humor, positive mindset and energy
