Position overview:

The Connections Director leads the delivery of Mediahub’s implementational media planning activity, with hands on responsibility for the planning on dedicated accounts, and overall responsibility to support and develop the broader planning team.

This person will work hand in hand with members of the strategy team to bridge the gap between world class comms strategy and the media plans developed by client planning teams. You will bring insight, rigour, innovation and passion to the implementational planning process.

You will work closely with the Head of Strategy to drive the adoption by teams of InterAct and support the broader strategy and planning process, helping ensure that console use and process application are socialised into the business.

This is a client facing role. You’ll need to bring “media math” rigour, and channel knowledge to bear to demonstrate the why behind the what. And to ensure that our planning product directly meets client media requirements and objectives.

This role encompasses internal responsibilities as well as also being client facing and covering our relationships with key vendors and our partner IPG agencies i.e., ensuring that the briefs to the TV, OOH and Addressable teams are built in a way that in consistent with the overall planning principles developed.

Working with the SLT you will help deliver excellence of planning and execution of media activity and keep the agency ahead of developments in the market. The contemporary AV market is one area where particular emphasis is needed, with more client investment in AV channels. A solid understanding of AV planning is essential.

Planning Strategic Direction & Execution

  • Support the adoption of the Strategy & Planning process
  • Support the usage of InterAct
  • Ensure the quality of our implementational planning
  • Own the planning output across Mediahub
  • Hands on support for the planning teams to deliver quality planning output, with rigour and rationale behind every plan
  • Work with buying specialists to ensure our planning approach and strategies are delivered and maximised through our buying

People

  • Play an active part of the core planning process with the client account teams, working with clients to successfully sell-in our proposed approach
  • Work with the client planning teams to upskill our planners through hands on support, mentoring and guidance
  • Work with the strategy team to ensure strategies are real-world achievable and can be and are implemented in planning, and through to buying
