Position overview:  

A Business Director at Mediahub is responsible for leading the strategic vision and overall growth of the client. This role involves overseeing client relationships, providing a challenger client experience, identifying new business opportunities, and managing a high-performing team to deliver media strategies and campaigns that push beyond the limits, embracing our challenger mindset all while driving revenue growth. Mediahub’s planning framework, IGNITE, is driven by the Business Director and is fundamental in how we differentiate ourselves in market to deliver best in market work. 

 

At Mediahub your roles and responsibilities will be centred around the below core competencies. These include but are not limited to:  

Media Planning, Strategy & Execution  

  • Ensure comprehensive knowledge of the IGNITE process.  
  • Ownership of client briefs ensuring clarity of roles and responsibilities of the team through the IGNITE process while engaging with R&D and D&A to drive better creativity and connectivity. 
  • Deliver objective and strategic counsel to clients and the broader team 
  • Establish and define the overarching challenger goal for your client/s, whilst achieving your client objectives. 
  • Present regular performance reports to clients, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement and having a point of view on what’s next. 
  • Proactively anticipate and address client needs with the ambition to be one step ahead of their expectations. 

Measure 

  • IGNITE implemented and utilised when responding to every brief. 
  • All Media Plans have a clear point of differentiation, specifically channelling creativity innovation that the clients have bought into.   
  • 1 x compelling case study (video & written form) produced bi-annually that is shortlisted for industry recognition or award. 
  • Successfully delivers the North Star goal within the set timeframe (and has pivoted where necessary). 
  • Positive feedback and recognition from key clients (outside of the TRR) regarding Mediahub’s proactivity to service beyond the day to day. 

Media Transformation 

  • As more and more media becomes digitised, drive and direct clients towards a platform  

and identity driven world. 

  • Embed Mediahub and Mediabrands proprietary Data, Tools & Technology (DTT) to drive client outcomes. 
  • Work with the Chief Digital Officer to concentrate platform and technology capabilities across the client and planning pod. 

Measure 

  • Apply Mediahub and Mediabrands Data, Tools & Technology (DTT) that drive measurable client outcomes, enabled by DTT roadmaps 
  • Evolve Platform and DTT knowledge and capabilities of the client pod team, enabled by capability roadmaps. 

Client Service 

  • Lead senior client relationships and nurture it by delivering high standards of client satisfaction which delivering a client experience that is different and better to the rest of the industry and one that is Simple, Fast, Effective and Fun. 
  • Collaborate with key functions - R&D, D&A, P3 (People, Platforms, Precision) to deliver the desired output. 
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks impacting our clients and relationships. 
  • Proactively develop ideas and initiatives embodying our Challenger Mindset. 
  • Efficiently manage all deliverables and standards set by the CCO e.g. KAPs, client QBRs, client induction packs. 
  • Closer engagement with our clients; stakeholder maps, relationship building plans, better and deeper onboarding and more client facing. 
  • Understands the overall state of each client, their business and objectives. 
  • Generate ideas to enhance the overall client experience so that it is simple, fast, and effective. 

Measure  

  • Achieves a TRR (The Referral Rating) or other survey score of >8 and positive ad hoc feedback. 
  • Thorough client retention strategy implemented and delivered. 
  • Brilliant basics implemented with all client interactions.  
  • Action plans in place post-TRR or other surveys to actively address clients' challenges. Identifies and implements effective resolution. 
  • Completion of KAPS and monthly updates to ensure tracking of all deliverables identified are being delivered 

Commercial 

  • Oversee client contracts and project scopes, ensuring the fulfilment of all commitments and effective communication with relevant teams  
  • Align team allocation in line with commercial agreements in client contracts. 
  • Source opportunities for revenue growth with existing clients; and where required lead new business opportunities. 
  • Overseeing the delivery of your teams work with the intent of ensuring no under or overspends have occurred.  
  • Oversee each account with complete accountability for client profit and loss (P&L). 
  • Seeking out and selling in new organic opportunities. 

Measure 

  • Client contracts and scope of work are produced and regularly reviewed by set deadlines. 
  • Completion of timesheets and resolve all account queries with your team by set deadlines. 
  • Adherence to the defined finance process ensuring compliance with all set deadlines 

Career Development & Team Management 

  • Train, mentor and support your direct reports and the juniors within your POD to help them achieve their career development goals and fulfil their KPIs. 
  • Be an industry leader, leveraging your expertise to grow those internally & externally.  
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of our cultural strategy, overseen by our People Partner. 
  • Manage resource needs and take the lead role in recruitment for your POD. 
  • Set the tone for your team, embodying Mediahub's values daily.  

Measures 

  • Goals / KPIs set for all direct reports and your entire POD within the review cycle.  
  • Regular 1-1 meetings conducted to assist your team in achieving their goals. 
  • A minimum of 1 x thought leadership piece per year 
  • Attrition rate and overburn hours reduced within your POD YoY, as provided via timesheet data. 

Desired Skills and Experience 

  • Embraces a ‘Challenger mindset’ in the delivery of all work and in leading the team.   
  • Excellent client servicing skills. 
  • Track record of building and maintaining strong client relationship. 
  • Strong history of driving revenue growth and achieving financial targets. 
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire to create high performing team. 
  • Is Agile in their approach and able to run fast at new opportunities.  
  • Prior experience working with clients who skew towards platform investment is desired. 
  • Familiarity with data analytics and using data-driven insights to inform business strategies and decision-making
